What Did They Say??

Love this linky idea from A Turn to LearnMy kids say the best things sometimes!

During writing time, we've been stretching out words and then writing down those sounds.  One of my students was stuck on a word, but eventually got it.  He said, "I think God came into my head and gave me the answer!" :)

In the fall, we learned about the word "deciduous", trees that lose their leaves.  A few of the students chimed in together, "my dad is deciduous because he's been losing his hair!"

I love teaching kindergarten!!  Make sure you check out A Turn to Learn for the linky details!  Happy MLK Day, everyone enjoy your day off tomorrow!

TGIF!

Happy Friday!  There were a few points during the week when I wasn't sure we'd make it!  But it's finally here! =)

We've been working a lot with the hundreds chart and number recognition this week.  I cut up our charts to make puzzles, and then had the students try to put them back together.  Check out this picture...

One student put his together in a very non-traditional way!  I checked carefully, and it actually did follow the correct order!

We are also starting to get ready for our kindergarten valentine's party...Yay!!  In preparation, I've put together a collection of V-Day literacy activities.  Check them out in my TPT store!
